The crew of a lab-boat searches for of a possible
genetic contamination in a remote area of the earth.
Test procedure:
1. The strips of the
flashkits detect
the presence of transgenic proteins.
Small samples of plants ("confettis") are taken in the selected
area.
2. Once on
board, the "confettis" are placed in a small rigid container
in order to be able to crush them.
- Add some drops of the provided liquid ("plug of extraction")
- Broye confettis with a contendant instrument (rammer, handle of small
spoon) in order to extract liquid.
- Pour the remainder of the "plug of extraction" and shake the
container for one minute, in order for the liquid to become homogeneous.
3. Let the
solution rest at least 2 minutes.
- Using a disposable pipette, take 0,5 ml of liquid on the surface (clear
liquid), and put it in a microtube.
- A strip of test is placed in the tube.
- Wait fifteen minutes before reading the result.
